How to install a

Content Management System (CMS)

onto your server

 

Drupal

Step #1  Create a database

  • Logon to your account administrator at http: //admin.YOURSITE
  • Click on Server > Virtualmin Virtual Servers (GPL)
  • Click on the apropriate domain in the list
  • Click on the [EDIT DATABASES] button
  • Click on "Create a new database"
  • Fill in the "Database name" and click on the [Create] button

Step #2 Install Drupal files

  • Logon to your account administrator at http: //admin.YOURSITE
  • Click on Others > Custom Commands
  • In the Drupal CMS box fill in
    • Domain with YOURSITENAME
    • Set Command to "Install"
    • You may leave Option blank for install
  • Click on the [Drupal CMS] button

Step #3 Run the Drupal Installation script

  • Go to you website at http: //www.YOURSITENAME
  • Click on "Install Drupal in English"
  • Enter:
    • Database name (use the same name as step #1 above)
    • Database Username
    • Database Password
    • Click on [Save and continue]
    • Configure Site page: Fill in as desired

Step #4 Secure your site:

  • Logon to your account administrator at http: //admin.YOURSITE.DOM
  • Click on Others > Custom Commands
  • In the Drupal box fill in
    • Domain with YOURSITENAME
    • Set Command to "Secure"
    • You may leave Option blank for "secure"
  • Click on the [Drupal CMS] button

Recommended Configuration Settings

  • Enable Clean URLs (/admin/settings/clean-urls) (should have been done by default during install)
  • From admin site: Drupal CMS "Modules" "Standard"
  • From Drupal admin: Enable Modules (/admin/build/modules)
    • Administration Menu
    • Path
    • PHP Filter
    • Search
    • Upload
    • Meta tags (all)
    • Advanced Help
    • Pathauto
    • Token
    • CKEditor
  • Lenth of trimmed posts (/admin/content/node-settings) = UNLIMITED
  • /admin/settings/filters > Filtered HTML
    • Configure > CLEAR HTML Filter
  • /admin/user/permissions ckeditor module > CHECK access ckeditor for authenticated user
  • /admin/settings/ckeditor> Advanced EDIT > Editor Appearance
    • Toolbar > Full
    • > Plugings > CHECK ALL
